Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact & Z Ultra getting Android 4.4.2 Update Fixing Sound Issue – Details
Sony’s Xperia range devices are getting a firmware update, which is
mainly for fixing the bugs that were seen after the recent major
software update. The devices which are going to get this update include
the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact.
There were issues
with the speaker and the sound output in the Android 4.4.2 update sent
recently to these smartphones, and this is getting a fix with the new
update.
The new firmware version 14.3.A.0.757 fixes the sound issue where the
noises from the handsets were heard from the internal speaker and not
the external one. This fix would surely rejoice the users who were being
bugged with the noticeable lowered internal speaker sound.
Although the update hasn’t hit all the regions, the regions where it
is hitting earlier includes UK, Germany, Russia, France, China, Israel,
Poland, Sweden, Austria, Philippines, Netherlands and Slovakia. Users
from Kenya and the Middle East too reported receiving the update, in
their Xperia Z1 smartphone. The update is being sent to different
regions for the different devices.
If you haven’t got the update already, you might need to hit the
Settings section and go to the Software Update section to check for the
update manually although you shouldn’t be really worried if it doesn’t
reach your device soon because there is nothing related to security
being fixed in this. If you are one of the lucky users not finding any
sound issue while using your Xperia Z1, Z Ultra or the Z1 Compact, the
update won’t make any difference to your phone.
There is nothing said about the update for the first Xperia Z family,
i.e. the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR but there is some news that
the update might be available in the mid of second quarter of 2014.
