ANDROID ONE NOW ENTERS EUROPE



Google launched the ‘Android One’ smartphones in India last year. During launch the company said, it will help them to reach larger initiative to bring high-quality smartphones to as many people as possible. Till now Android One smartphones are available in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines and Sri Lanka including India.

Now the ‘Android One’ platform entered the Europe by launching the ‘General Mobile 4G’smartphone in Turkey and as the name suggest it is manufactured by General Mobile with Google partnership. It was priced at $260, which is more than double of the previous Android One smartphones that cost you around $100. Though there is a serious bump in the specifications offered on the latest smartphone. Before to this, all the Android One devices are powered by MediaTek processors, but the General Mobile 4G is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor and 2GB of RAM, which is double than previous models.

It has 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Other features include a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 5MP front-facing camera, comes with Android Lollipop out-of-the-box. The back of the device has a faux leather case. It comes with 4G LTE support, which makes the first Android One device to support 4G.
The previous Android One models had 4.5-inch WVGA screen running on Mediatek processors with 5MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM and 4GB/8GB inbuilt storage.
All the Android One devices will receive the latest OS updates directly from Google for up to 2 years. By this, we can see more Android One devices powered by Qualcomm processors. Launching in Europe, makes the Google’s goal to move steps forward of reaching 5 billion people in emerging markets.
