Two New Launches From Meizu Scheduled In June

MEIZU M1 NOTE 2 AND MX5 SCHEDULED TO LAUNCH IN JUNE

Meizu will be launching two new smartphones next month in two different events. If the reports from China are to be believed, then the upgraded version of M1 Note will be launched on 2nd June and to be named as ‘M1 Note 2’. On 30th June, the latest flagship device MX5 will be launched. It will be the successor for previous year’s Meizu MX4.

‘M1 Note 2′ will feature the same FullHD display we saw on M1 Note but with a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button below the display. M1 Note 2 will be priced higher than the M1 Note price of $160. With the increase in the price, it can have some upgrades in the hardware of the device as well.

The Meizu M1 Note had a 5.5-inch FullHD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of the display and powered by 1.7GHz Mediatek MT6752 octa-core display with 2GB of RAM. The device has 16/32GB internal storage and with no expandable storage option for the devices. It has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front-facing camera. This all specifications are now commonly seen in $200-$250 price range.

The MX5 will be latest flagship device from Meizu with a unibody design. Hence, the battery will not be user-removable, unlike the MX4. It may be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The device will be featuring an oval shaped home button along with a fingerprint scanner in it. Coming to the design volume rocker and the power button are to be placed on the right and SIM card slot on the left of the device.

The 2014 flagship from Meizu, MX4 has a 5.36-inch IPS display with 1152×1920 resolution, 2.2GHz Mediatek MT6595 octa-core chipset with 2GB of RAM. The rear camera on the device is of 20.7MP with LED flash and priced at $292 for 16GB version and $325 for 32GB version. It will be interesting to see what hardware the company includes in MX5 with there aggressive pricing.
