YU YUPHORIA TO BE LAUNCHED ON MAY 12
Micromax subsidiary YU Televentures has been working on a new smartphone codenamed ‘Project Caesar’. Few months back the company asked the fans to name their new device with a campaign #YuNameIt, where they received nearly 1,00,000 entries. Finalizing five out of them, Yuphoria was selected by voting through their YUplaygod forum. It will be the successor for YU Yureka which was launched in December 2014. Yesterday, YU announced the launch date as 12 May by tweeting “The moment of YUphoria is coming. Have you blocked your calendar?”
The company had sold a total of 3, 60,000 units till 30th April, 2015. While launching Yureka, YU also announced on-door service for their smartphones, but availability of this service for outside the city limits is still questionable.
There is no any other information available at this moment, but it is rumored to have a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage. By these specifications, it will be priced according to the Redmi 2, Moto E (2nd Gen) and Lenovo A6000 Plus. As we don’t guarantee these specifications to be in the final device, we have to wait till the official launch of the smartphone. During the launch of ‘Micromax Canvas Laptab‘, Vikas Jain Co-founder of Micromax hinted that the launch of Yuphoria will be on 10 or 11 of May, but the tweet (@YUplaygod) confirmed that the launch will happen on 12 May.
Rahul Sharma Co-founder of Micromax and YU Televentures said, “They will not be just limited to smartphone soon will be launching YU branded wearable too.” So we can expect a few smart devices from YU in the coming days.
